A new kind of water
The interior collection A new kind of water presents a unique combination of surfaces and patterns capturing fluids in motion.
Frozen in time, the shape of water is translated into tangible objects. Like water the digital is able to take on every shape and fill every container. The nature of this new material is reflected in the design process: the digitally generated patterns seek to balance organic beauty with a sense of artificiality. Blurring the boundaries between the tactile and the virtual.
This collection of objects negotiates a new kind of visual materiality, emerging from a process of intuitive translation between physical and digital domains. The resulting shiny aluminium shapes or flowing curtains visually encapsulate the changing faces of A new kind of water. The refractions and ripples of the patterns explore its physical qualities.
Selected pieces of the collection are for sale at Alcova Online Shop.
